Brief Summary of professional career, qualifications and current position
I was born in Leningrad. I have two higher educations, diploma with honors majoring in landscape gardening and landscape construction, bachelor degree in law, master’s degree with honors in reconstruction and restoration of cultural heritage.
In 2001, I completed the internship in the organization “Natuurmonumenten” in the Department for the preservation of natural and cultural heritage (Netherlands).
From 1998 to 2001, I’ve worked as a specialist in the preservation of historical park landscape in the State museum “Yelagin island Palace and Park ensemble”. From 2001 to 2002 I’ve worked the same direction as the head of the Park Department in the “Summer garden and Palace-Museum of Peter I”.
Since 2002 I work in the Committee for the state preservation of cultural and historical monuments. Since 1998 I’m actively engaged in research and outreach activities in the following areas: conservation and restoration of historical sites landscape architecture and landscape gardening art; the preservation of the historical environment of St. Petersburg; the preservation of world cultural heritage (World Heritage Site in St. Petersburg).
The sphere of my scientific interests includes issues of safeguarding intangible heritage. Directly coordinated the work on the retrospective inventory and the preparation of state reports of the World Heritage Site “Historic centre of St. Petersburg and related groups of monuments” approved by the world heritage Committee of UNESCO in 2012 – 2014 years. Also I’ve coordinated the preparation of the presentation of St. Petersburg at the 39-th session of the world heritage Committee in 2015, and the preparation of amendments to the Law of St. Petersburg on the borders of protection zones of cultural heritage sites, aimed at preservation of cultural heritage sites in their historical environment.
I work in the sphere of cultural heritage preservation for 19 years. During this period I had the opportunity to work with different types of cultural heritage sites and delve into all the main directions of activities for their preservation. For example, I have experience in the field of preservation, identification, accounting, and promotion of cultural heritage, as well as legislative activities. Specified experience allows me safely to say that I am a professional with a comprehensive vision of issues, challenges in the sphere of cultural heritage preservation and ways of its solution.
